SF6302 Soul Care
SF6302 Soul Care examines essential skills for providing spiritual nurture, guidance, and counseling to congregants. Topics include foundations of soul care, family systems theory, listening skills, spiritual direction, emotional health assessments, grief support, crisis intervention, referral protocols, and scope of practice for ministry contexts.
This course develops competencies for compassionate soul care and counseling in congregational ministry settings.
Students will:
- Examine biblical soul care foundations and spiritual direction
- Learn tools for congregational emotional health assessments
- Apply counseling techniques through ministry case consultations
- Develop skills for crisis care, intervention protocols, and referrals
